hide & seek
As part of my internship semester, I designed a digital capsule collection. The goal of this project was to further explore and develop my technical skills with digital product creation, texturing, and rendering.

Reflecting the quiet ache of coming of age in a world of dysfunction, hide and seek portrays the desire to recover a sense of safety and belonging. It reflects the quiet retreat to a forgotten world of softness, playfulness, and unfulfilled dreams. The collection invites you into a dreamscape where childhood whimsy collides with the melancholy of loneliness, revealing the tender space between childhood innocence and the weight of adulthood.
This collection is centred around a story about a young woman who quietly retreats to a world of childhood memories in an attempt to escape the harsh reality of adulthood. To inspire each of the three looks, I developed three characters, The Hider, The Seeker, and The Child, each reflecting a different stage of retreat. The collection draws heavily from my own dreamy, blurred memories of childhood, and from themes of longing and escapism. By making use of soft textures, details that look hand-stitched or mended, and childhood inspired styles, I reflect a sense of childhood nostalgia. Combined with large, enveloping styles and dreamy gradients, and star motifs, I evoke the feeling of retreat and dreaming.
